BUNNY FACTS

Energizer Bunny® Career History

The Energizer Bunny®, named one of the Top 5 Advertising Icons of the 20th Century, keeps going…and going…and going…more than ten years after his introduction as a symbol of long-lasting Energizer® brand Batteries. He has become a cultural icon and a state of mind in our culture, serving as the ultimate symbol of longevity, perseverance and determination.  Almost daily, news items appear across the country comparing everyone and everything to the powerhouse hare. Some recent comparisons of people who have the Bunny inside include: the economy, Elizabeth Taylor, aircrafts, the California Angels, Evander Holyfield, Dick Clark, the Rolling stones, the musical, “Grease,” as well as many sports teams, students, volunteers and local heroes.

The Energizer Bunny parody campaign started in October, 1989. Since then, he has starred in more than 115 advertising spots, including the most recent Energizer campaign asking, “Do you have the Bunny inside?”.   He has interrupted TV commercials, traveled around the world, battled villains like Darth Vader and King Kong, outwitted “Bunny Spotters;” and has been found on the political campaign trail and interrupting an online shopper.  Nothing can stop or keep up with him because he is powered by long-lasting Energizer brand Batteries.
